The PowerEdge R540 is a 2U rack server equipped with two Intel Xeon Silver 4114 processors running at 2.2 GHz with a 3.0 GHz turbo frequency. Each CPU provides 10 cores, giving 20 cores total for multi-threaded workloads. The system ships with 128 GB of DDR4 registered ECC memory installed across 16 slots, supporting up to 1 TB maximum capacity. It is built for virtualization, database hosting and file-serving tasks that demand reliable compute density in a standard rack footprint.

8-bay SAS storage with HBA330 pass-through

Eight 3.5-inch drive bays are populated with 4 TB 7.2K SAS hard drives connected to a Dell PERC HBA330 controller operating in pass-through mode. The controller presents drives directly to the operating system without hardware RAID abstraction, freeing the OS to implement software-defined storage or ZFS pools. Two redundant 750 W 80+ Platinum hot-swap power supplies and integrated dual-port 1 GbE networking complete the core infrastructure. Rails and a front bezel are included for immediate rack installation.

iDRAC9 Enterprise remote management

The integrated iDRAC9 Enterprise licence enables full out-of-band management including virtual console, remote power control and hardware health monitoring over a dedicated network interface. This allows administrators to deploy, update and troubleshoot the server without physical access to the data center. The server ships without an operating system, so the choice of hypervisor or OS and any associated licensing remains with the buyer.
