Dual Xeon Gold 6130 server

The Dell PowerEdge R540 is a 2U rack server built around two Intel Xeon Gold 6130 processors, each running at 2.1 GHz with 16 cores. Thirty-two gigabytes of DDR4 registered ECC memory support virtualization, database hosting and business-critical workloads. The system ships new with rails and a front bezel but without an operating system.

Eight-bay SAS storage and redundant power

Eight 3.5-inch drive bays hold 4 TB 7.2K SAS drives connected to a PERC H330 controller that supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 10 and 50. Two hot-swap 750 W 80+ Platinum power supplies provide redundancy, while a dual-port 1 GbE network card and iDRAC9 Enterprise handle connectivity and remote management. Sixteen memory slots allow expansion up to 1 TB of DDR4.

Sustained multi-core throughput with ECC

Dual 16-core CPUs maintain a 3.7 GHz turbo frequency under continuous load, and registered ECC DDR4 protects data integrity during long-running tasks. The H330 controller manages steady SAS I/O across all eight drives without a write-back cache. Redundant platinum-efficiency power supplies and integrated thermal design keep the platform stable during extended operation.
