PowerEdge R540 dual Xeon server

The Dell PowerEdge R540 is a 2U rack server fitted with two Intel Xeon Silver 4114 processors, each running at 2.2 GHz with 10 cores and a 3.0 GHz turbo frequency. It ships with 256 GB of DDR4 2666 MHz registered ECC memory across eight 32 GB modules. The Dell PERC HBA330 controller provides 12 Gb/s SAS/SATA pass-through connectivity to eight 3.5-inch drive trays. Dual 1 GbE RJ45 ports and iDRAC9 Enterprise remote management are integrated for network and out-of-band administration.

Redundant 750 W platinum power supplies

Two hot-swap 750 W power supplies rated 80+ Platinum deliver redundant power with high energy efficiency. The 2U chassis uses intelligent cooling to maintain consistent thermal performance under load. iDRAC9 Enterprise enables continuous monitoring of temperatures, fan speeds and power draw from a remote console. The redundant supply design ensures the server remains operational if one unit fails or is replaced during service.

HBA330 pass-through and iDRAC9 Enterprise

The PERC HBA330 operates in pass-through mode only, presenting attached SAS or SATA drives directly to the operating system without hardware RAID abstraction. This suits software-defined storage or hypervisor environments that manage redundancy themselves. iDRAC9 Enterprise adds a dedicated management port, virtual console, automated firmware updates and scripted deployment APIs. The server includes sliding rails and a front bezel for rack mounting, and ships without an operating system installed.
