A 1U rack server with ten 2.5-inch hot-plug bays, single Xeon E5-2609 V3 at 1.9 GHz, 64 GB DDR4, and an H730 RAID controller supporting RAID 0/1/5/6/10/50/60
Installed Memory Size 64GB
HDD None
The Dell PowerEdge R630 is a 1U rackmount server built for high drive density in a compact form factor. It ships with a single Intel Xeon E5-2609 V3 six-core processor at 1.9GHz and 64GB of DDR4 memory. The system includes a Dell PERC H730 RAID controller supporting levels 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60, plus dual 750W redundant power supplies. No hard drives, trays or operating system are included.
Organisations that require dual-processor performance, installed storage drives or an operating system pre-load should evaluate other platforms. The ten hot-plug bays accept SAS or SATA drives up to 14TB each, making this chassis suitable for storage-focused workloads. Remote management is handled by iDRAC8 with Lifecycle Controller, and networking starts with a four-port 1GbE daughter card.
The installed 64GB already reaches the supported ceiling for this configuration, so no further RAM upgrades are possible. Twenty-four DIMM slots are present, twelve per processor socket, but the limit is fixed at 64GB total. Buyers needing more memory must choose a different server model. The single CPU occupies one of two available sockets, leaving room for a second processor if the platform limit changes.

Other versions of this model
The chassis supports up to 10 hot-plug 2.5-inch SAS or SATA bays, and the H730 controller handles RAID 0/1/5/6/10/50/60 across them.
Dual 750 W hot-swap power supplies share the load, keeping each unit cooler and fan speeds lower than a single supply under full draw.
The system uses 24 DDR4 DIMM slots (12 per processor) running up to 2400 MT/s; the current 64 GB configuration occupies a subset of those slots.
