1U rack server with single Xeon E5-2620 V3 six-core 2.4GHz CPU, 24GB DDR4, H330 RAID controller and dual 750W redundant power supplies
Installed Memory Size 24GB
HDD None
The Dell PowerEdge R630 fits a single Intel Xeon E5-2620 V3 six-core processor at 2.4 GHz with 24 GB of DDR4 memory into a single rack unit. It targets buyers who need a small-footprint server for virtualisation hosts, web tiers or batch workloads where two sockets are not required. The chassis supports up to eight 2.5-inch hot-plug SAS or SATA drives managed by a PERC H330 controller with RAID 0, 1, 5, 10, 50 and 60.
Two hot-swap 750 W power supplies share the load and keep the system running if one unit fails. With only one CPU installed the thermal envelope stays well within the capacity of the standard cooling assembly, so fan speeds remain moderate during typical workloads. The 1U height limits airflow space, but the redundant design prevents a single-point power failure without adding external hardware.
The specification lists maximum memory capacity as 24 GB, matching the installed amount across the 24 DIMM slots. Buyers who need more than 24 GB of RAM cannot expand this configuration and should consider a different platform. The PERC H330 controller and eight drive bays remain available for storage growth, but the memory ceiling is fixed.

Other versions of this model
Mount the 1U chassis using the included rails, then connect both 750W redundant power supplies to separate circuits — skipping the second feed defeats the redundancy.
Replace the CMOS battery on the motherboard when the system clock drifts, and plan for fan-module swaps if bearing noise appears after extended operation.
The single E5-2620 V3 processor caps compute throughput at six cores and twelve threads, so CPU saturation arrives before memory or storage bandwidth limits.
