A 1U rack server with a 3.5 GHz quad-core Xeon, 128 GB DDR4, two 300 GB 15K SAS drives and an H330 RAID controller
Installed Memory Size 128GB
SSD (Installed) No
HDD 2 x 300GB 15K
The Dell PowerEdge R630 fits a single Xeon E5-2637 v3 processor and 128 GB of DDR4 into a 1U chassis. Eight 2.5-inch drive bays and a PERC H330 controller support SAS or SATA drives in multiple RAID modes. Dual 750 W hot-swap supplies keep the system running if one unit fails. It targets workloads that need high core frequency in minimal rack space.
The quad-core CPU at 3.5 GHz helps single-threaded applications and licensing models tied to core count. Memory is already at the installed maximum of 128 GB, so no further expansion is possible without replacing modules. Buyers who need more cores per socket, larger memory capacity, or GPU acceleration should evaluate other platforms.
This processor delivers four cores and eight threads at a high base clock, setting the ceiling for per-thread speed. The PERC H330 handles RAID 0, 1, 5, 10, 50 and 60 across the two included 300 GB 15 K SAS drives. Networking uses a four-port 1 GbE daughter card with optional 10 GbE upgrades.

Other versions of this model
The system ships with one Xeon E5-2637 V3 quad-core 3.5GHz processor, 128GB DDR4 across 24 DIMM slots, two 300GB 15K 2.5-inch SAS drives, H330 12Gbps RAID controller, dual 750W redundant power supplies and iDRAC8 Express. No operating system, rails, bezel or additional CPUs are included.
The installed CPU is a single E5-2637 V3 with four cores and eight threads. Adding a second supported processor activates the second socket, doubles thread count and unlocks the remaining 12 DIMM slots for expansion up to 1536GB total memory.
All 24 DIMM slots are populated to reach 128GB, running at speeds up to 2400MT/s limited by the E5-2637 V3 memory controller. This leaves no free slots for further upgrades unless memory modules are replaced with higher-capacity DDR4 DIMMs.
