A 1U rack server with dual 12-core Xeon Silver 4214 CPUs at 2.2GHz, 384GB DDR4 ECC memory, PERC H740P RAID controller, 10GbE networking, and four 3.5-inch drive bays ready for your SATA drives
The Dell PowerEdge R640 is a 1U rack-mount server equipped with two Intel Xeon Silver 4214 processors running at 2.2GHz. Each CPU provides 12 cores with 16.5MB cache, delivering 24 total threads for parallel processing. It ships with 384GB of DDR4 ECC registered memory installed and supports a maximum capacity of 7.68TB. The 4LFF chassis accommodates up to four 3.5-inch SATA drives, though no drives are included in this configuration.
A Dell PERC H740P RAID controller manages the storage array, providing hardware RAID capabilities for the SATA drive bays. The integrated iDRAC9 Enterprise licence enables full out-of-band remote management, including virtual console, power control, and hardware monitoring. Network connectivity is handled by a dual-port 10GbE 562T adapter. Dual 750W power supplies provide redundancy for continuous operation.
The server measures 36 x 24 x 10 inches and weighs 40 units, requiring standard 1U rack space and adequate airflow clearance. Rail kits are available separately and must be requested if needed. Drive caddies for the 3.5-inch bays are not included and must be sourced to install storage. Memory expansion beyond 384GB requires additional DDR4 ECC registered modules compatible with the platform.

The chassis supports up to 4 SATA drives; each bay accepts a 3.5" unit you add yourself.
Each 12-core processor runs at 2.2 GHz with 16.5 MB cache; sustained load is limited by the 750 W power supplies.
Dual 750 W supplies and iDRAC9-managed cooling keep acoustics at typical rack-mount levels under full memory population.
