44-core dual-Xeon rack server with 128 GB DDR4, 2 TB SATA SSD storage and H740P controller in an 8-bay 2.5-inch chassis
The Dell PowerEdge R640 fits a standard rack and ships with a front bezel for a clean installation. Two Xeon Gold 6152 processors deliver 44 cores at 2.10GHz on LGA3647 sockets. 128GB of DDR4 memory supports dense virtual machine workloads. The 8SFF chassis holds eight 2.5-inch drives.
An H740P RAID controller manages the two included 1TB SATA SSDs for operating system, application and virtual machine storage. Integrated GPU handles basic display output without a discrete card. X550 network adapters provide wired connectivity. Power and Ethernet LEDs give quick status visibility.
The system targets file storage, virtualization, databases, backups and application hosting. Maximum memory capacity reaches 3TB for future expansion. Supplied without an operating system so you can deploy your preferred platform. Weighs 60 units for rack planning.

Slide each drive into a front bay until the latch clicks, then use the H740P controller BIOS to create a RAID array before installing an OS — skipping the array creation is the step most often missed.
DDR4 modules require no scheduled replacement; reseat them only if ECC errors appear. The H740P cache battery should be replaced when the controller logs a battery-learn failure, typically after several years.
The 60 °C inlet-temperature limit is reached first; sustained full-core load pushes exhaust heat past the chassis rating before CPU throttling activates.
