1U rack server with dual 28-core Xeon Gold 6330 CPUs, 128GB DDR4, ten 960GB SATA SSDs on H755 RAID, quad 1GbE and iDRAC9 Enterprise
The Dell PowerEdge R650 packs two Intel Xeon Gold 6330 processors at 2.0 GHz with 28 cores each into a single rack unit, delivering 128 GB of DDR4 2933 MHz registered ECC memory across eight 16 GB modules. This configuration targets virtualization hosts, database clusters and dense private-cloud nodes that need high core counts and fast memory in minimal rack space. Buyers who require GPU acceleration or more than ten drive bays should look elsewhere.
Dual 1400 W platinum-efficiency power supplies provide full redundancy with hot-swap replacement, keeping the server running during a module failure. The 1U chassis uses directed airflow to cool the CPUs, memory and ten 2.5-inch SSDs while maintaining acoustic levels suitable for data-centre aisles. Power draw scales with workload, but the platform is designed for efficient operation at typical enterprise utilisation.
Ten 960 GB SATA SSDs sit behind the bezel on hot-swap trays, managed by a PERC H755 RAID controller with 8 GB NV cache and battery backup supporting RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60. A Broadcom 5720 quad-port 1 GbE OCP 3.0 adapter handles network connectivity, while iDRAC 9 Enterprise gives remote console, power control and firmware updates over a dedicated management port. Ready Rails and the front bezel are included for quick rack mounting.

Slide each drive into the front hot-swap bay until the latch clicks; the step often missed is confirming the PERC H755 RAID controller recognises every drive before creating virtual disks.
The H755 includes an 8GB NV cache with a battery-backed module; the battery is the only serviceable part and should be replaced when iDRAC 9 Enterprise reports a degraded cache battery status.
The dual 1400W PSUs share load in redundant mode; the first limit is the combined 1400W output ceiling, so total system draw must stay below that threshold to maintain redundancy.
