1U rack server with dual 16-core Xeon Silver 4314 CPUs, 1 TB DDR4-2666 ECC memory, ten 1.8 TB 10 K SAS drives on a PERC H755 RAID controller, dual-port 10 GbE SFP+ OCP 3.0 networking.
This Dell PowerEdge R650 fits two Intel Xeon Silver 4314 processors and 1 TB of DDR4 into a single rack unit. The 16-core CPUs run at 2.4 GHz with a 3.4 GHz turbo frequency. Ten 2.5-inch SAS drives and an H755 RAID controller with 8 GB NV cache deliver high-throughput local storage. Dual 1400 W platinum supplies and iDRAC9 Enterprise complete the package for data-centre deployment.
The 32 DIMM slots populated with 32 GB modules give 1 TB of registered ECC memory today and headroom to 2 TB. The H755 supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 for flexible redundancy. Buyers who need NVMe-only storage or more than two processor sockets should look at a different chassis. Teams without 10 GbE SFP+ switching gain no benefit from the 57412 OCP card.
The array provides 18 TB of raw capacity at 12 Gb/s SAS speed with hardware RAID acceleration. Drive count and controller cache are fixed by the configuration; expansion requires additional bays or a different server.
