A 1U rack server with dual 20-core Xeon Silver 4316 CPUs, 1TB DDR4, H755 RAID, ten 600GB SAS drives and redundant 1400W power supplies
The PowerEdge R650 packs two Intel Xeon Silver 4316 processors running at 2.3 GHz with a 3.4 GHz turbo into a 1U rack chassis. Thirty-two DDR4 modules deliver 1 TB of registered ECC memory at 2666 MHz. The PERC H755 controller with 8 GB NV cache manages ten 600 GB 10K SAS drives across the front 2.5-inch bays. Dual 1400 W platinum supplies and iDRAC9 Enterprise complete the configuration.
Ten 2.5-inch drive bays sit behind the included bezel for tool-less SAS drive changes without shutting down. The H755 RAID controller supports levels 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 for flexible data protection. Dual hot-swap power supplies share the load and keep the server running if one unit fails. Ready Rails mount the 1U chassis in standard four-post racks with minimal effort.
Organisations retiring earlier single-socket or lower-core 1U platforms gain twice the processor count and a full terabyte of DDR4 in the same rack unit. The jump is worthwhile when virtualisation density, database throughput or private-cloud node counts demand the 40 combined cores and 32 DIMM slots this system provides. Buyers who need GPU acceleration or NVMe-only storage should evaluate alternative configurations.

The PERC H755 RAID controller connects the ten 600 GB SAS drives at 12 Gb/s per drive.
The server ships with Dell Ready Rails and a front bezel for standard 1U rack mounting.
Align each CPU with the socket keying, lower the load plate, then torque the captive screws in a cross pattern.
