A 1U rack server with dual 12-core Xeon Silver 4310 processors at 2.1 GHz, 128 GB DDR4, PERC H755 RAID, and ten 960 GB SATA SSDs
The Dell PowerEdge R650 is a 1U rack server built for dense compute workloads. It ships with two Intel Xeon Silver 4310 processors running at 2.1 GHz with 12 cores each. The system includes 128 GB of DDR4 memory in eight 16 GB modules and a PERC H755 RAID controller with 8 GB of non-volatile cache. Ten 960 GB SATA solid-state drives fill the front 2.5-inch bays. Dual 1400 W platinum power supplies, iDRAC9 Enterprise, a dual-port 10 GbE SFP+ OCP 3.0 card, rails and a bezel complete the package.
This configuration suits teams running virtualised workloads, databases or private cloud stacks that benefit from all-flash storage and dual-processor throughput. The H755 controller supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 for flexible data protection. Buyers who need GPU acceleration, NVMe boot drives or more than two sockets should evaluate other platforms. The 1U chassis limits internal expansion to low-profile cards.
The installed PERC H755 controller determines which drive types and RAID levels are available. It manages the ten SATA SSDs and supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 with battery-backed cache. If the workload requires SAS or NVMe drives, a different controller would be required. Verify drive protocol and RAID needs before deployment.

Yes, the server runs eight 16 GB DDR4-2666 registered ECC modules, so your current DDR4-2666 ECC DIMMs are compatible.
Open the controller BIOS or iDRAC9 Enterprise storage view; all ten drives should appear as Ready and the virtual disks you create should show Optimal status.
The box contains the 1U chassis, bezel, ready rails, two 1400 W PSUs, and the ten SSDs already mounted in caddies; SFP+ transceivers are not included and must be purchased separately.
