A 1U rack server with two Xeon Silver 4314 processors, 64GB DDR4, ten 1.92TB SATA SSDs on an H745 controller, quad 1GbE networking, iDRAC9 Enterprise and dual 1400W power supplies
The Dell PowerEdge R650xs is a 1U rackmount server built for dense data centre deployments. It ships with two Intel Xeon Silver 4314 processors running at 2.4GHz with 3.4GHz turbo, providing 16 cores each for a total of 32 cores. The system includes 64GB of DDR4 2666MHz registered ECC memory across four 16GB modules. A PERC H745 RAID controller with 4GB NV cache and battery backs ten 1.92TB SATA SSDs. Dual 1400W platinum power supplies, a quad-port 1GbE OCP 3.0 card and iDRAC9 Enterprise complete the package. Rails and bezel are included.
This configuration suits organisations running virtualisation, cloud infrastructure or high-performance computing workloads that benefit from high core counts and fast flash storage in a single rack unit. The ten drive bays and hardware RAID support RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 for flexible data protection. Buyers who need GPU acceleration for AI training or larger memory footprints beyond the installed 64GB should evaluate other configurations. The 1U form factor also limits PCIe expansion compared with 2U or larger chassis.
The storage subsystem centres on ten 1.92TB SATA solid-state drives managed by the Dell PERC H745 controller with 4GB of battery-backed NV cache. This combination delivers hardware-accelerated RAID across all bays without consuming a PCIe slot. The controller supports RAID levels 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60, allowing the administrator to optimise for capacity, performance or redundancy as the workload demands.

The server uses registered ECC DDR4 running at 2666 MHz; the installed 64 GB is provided as four 16 GB modules.
The H745 supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 across SATA, SAS and NVMe devices, so the current 1.92 TB SATA SSDs can share arrays with other supported drives.
Log into the iDRAC9 web interface to verify Enterprise licence status, then check the power-supply health LEDs and iDRAC dashboard for redundant 1400 W PSU operation.
