1U rack server for virtualization and HCI workloads, supporting one AMD EPYC 9004 processor with up to 128 cores, 12 DDR5 slots at 4800 MT/s, and flexible front storage up to 153.6 TB NVMe
The Dell PowerEdge R6615 is a single-socket 1U rack server designed for virtualization, hyper-converged infrastructure and NFV workloads. It targets data-centre operators who need dense compute in a compact form factor with AMD EPYC 9004 series processors. Buyers seeking multi-socket scaling or tower chassis should look elsewhere.
The chassis arrives without a processor, memory modules or drives installed, so integrators must populate up to twelve registered ECC DDR5 DIMM slots and select a compatible EPYC CPU. Drive bays support multiple front configurations — 3.5-inch, 2.5-inch or E3.S — and rear 2.5-inch bays, but mixing bay types is not supported in a single build.
The server accommodates one AMD EPYC 9004 series processor with up to 128 cores and a maximum of 3 TB DDR5 memory at 4800 MT/s across twelve slots. This single-socket limit and memory ceiling determine whether the platform fits the intended workload density.
