2U rack server with dual Xeon E5-2620 v3 2.4GHz 6-core CPUs, 768GB DDR4, H730 controller, and eight 300GB SAS drives
Installed Memory Size 768GB
HDD 8 x 300GB 10K SAS
The Dell PowerEdge R730 is a 2U rack server built for midsize and large enterprises running data warehouses, e-commerce platforms, virtual desktop infrastructure, databases or high-performance computing nodes. Two installed Xeon E5-2620 v3 processors provide twelve cores at 2.4 GHz with 3.2 GHz turbo for multi-threaded throughput. Redundant hot-swap 750 W platinum power supplies and iDRAC8 Enterprise remote management support continuous operation in dense racks.
The system ships with 768 GB of DDR4 2133 MHz registered ECC memory populated in all twenty-four DIMM slots, leaving no empty sockets for further expansion without removing modules. Maximum supported capacity is 1.5 TB, so any growth beyond the current configuration requires replacing existing 32 GB modules with higher-density parts. The Intel C610 chipset and LGA 2011-3 sockets define the memory ceiling.
Storage is handled by a PERC H730 1 GB controller with battery-backed cache driving eight 300 GB 10 K SAS drives in 2.5 inch bays, supporting RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60. Network connectivity uses a quad-port daughter card with two 1 GbE and two 10 Gb SFP+ links. Dual 750 W platinum supplies share load efficiently, while the 2U chassis and included ready rails fit standard rack cabinets without special clearance requirements.

Other versions of this model
The system ships with 24 modules of 32GB DDR4 2133MHz registered ECC, filling all slots and leaving no room for expansion without removing memory.
The controller supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 with a 1GB cache and battery backup, and it caps drive throughput at 12Gb/s per SAS lane.
Dell Ready Rails and a front bezel are included, allowing tool-less mounting in a standard 4-post rack cabinet.
