2U rack server with dual 10-core Xeon E5-2660 v3 CPUs at 2.6 GHz, 128 GB DDR4 ECC memory, PERC H730 RAID controller, eight 2.5" drive trays, quad-port 1/10 GbE networking.
The Dell PowerEdge R730 is a 2U rackmount server system built for midsize and large enterprise workloads. It ships with two Intel Xeon E5-2660 v3 processors, each running at 2.60 GHz with 10 cores and a 3.3 GHz turbo frequency. The system includes 128 GB of DDR4 2133 MHz registered ECC memory across eight 16 GB modules. A PERC H730 storage controller with 1 GB cache provides RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 support.
This configuration suits virtual desktop infrastructure, database hosting, high-performance computing data nodes and general virtualisation clusters. The quad-port network daughter card delivers two 1 GbE and two 10 Gb SFP+ connections for flexible fabric integration. iDRAC 8 Enterprise enables full remote management. Buyers who require GPU acceleration for AI training or workloads needing more than two processor sockets should evaluate alternative platforms.
The chassis provides eight hot-swap 2.5-inch SAS/SATA trays without installed drives, allowing capacity and performance to be tailored to the application. The H730 controller supports a wide range of RAID levels and pass-through mode for software-defined storage. Dual 750 W platinum power supplies and included ready rails with bezel complete the deployment-ready package.

The Ready Rails supplied with the PowerEdge R730 are designed for standard four-post racks; measure your rack depth before mounting to ensure the rails can extend and lock securely.
After seating the H730 mini card, connect the battery cable to the controller before closing the chassis so the RAID cache protection is active on first boot.
Replacement DIMMs must be DDR4 2133 MHz registered ECC; the system supports up to 1.5 TB across all 24 slots when fully populated.
