2U rack server with dual 16-core Xeon processors at 2.1GHz, 256GB DDR4 ECC memory, eight 1.2TB SAS drives on H730 RAID controller, dual 10GbE SFP+ networking, and iDRAC8 Enterprise remote management
Installed Memory Size 256GB
HDD 8 x 1.2TB 10K SAS
The Dell PowerEdge R730 is a 2U rack server equipped with two Intel Xeon E5-2683 v4 processors running at 2.1 GHz with 16 cores each. It includes 256 GB of DDR4 2400 MHz registered ECC memory across eight 32 GB modules. The system targets midsize and large enterprise workloads such as databases, virtual desktop infrastructure and high-performance computing data nodes.
The chassis provides eight 2.5-inch SAS drive bays populated with 1.2 TB 10K enterprise hard drives. Verify that your rack accepts 2U height and that the included ready rails match your cabinet depth. The Intel X520/I350 daughter card delivers two 1 GbE and two 10 Gb SFP+ ports; confirm your switch supports SFP+ transceivers for the 10 Gb links. The PERC H730 controller with 1 GB cache handles RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60.
Two hot-swap 750 watt platinum-efficiency power supplies provide redundancy and lower AC draw under typical loads. The 2U form factor uses internal airflow channels to cool both CPUs and the 24 DIMM slots without excessive fan speed. iDRAC 8 Enterprise enables remote thermal monitoring and power capping so administrators can balance noise and performance from the management console.
