2U rack server with dual 18-core Xeon processors at 2.3 GHz, 768 GB DDR4 memory, eight 800 GB SATA SSDs and PERC H730 RAID controller
This 2U rack server delivers dual Intel Xeon E5-2699 v3 processors at 2.3 GHz with 18 cores each. It targets midsize and large enterprises running data warehouses, e-commerce platforms, virtual desktop infrastructure, databases or high-performance computing data nodes. The system ships with 768 GB of DDR4 registered ECC memory across 24 slots, supporting up to 1.5 TB total capacity.
Under continuous demand the 768 GB DDR4 2133 MHz memory pool feeds both CPUs without swapping, while eight 800 GB SATA SSDs provide solid-state throughput for database and virtualization workloads. The PERC H730 controller with 1 GB cache and battery backup maintains RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 performance during extended write sequences. Dual 750 W platinum power supplies share load to keep voltage stable when all cores run at 3.6 GHz turbo.
Eight 2.5-inch hot-swap drive bays allow drive replacement without downtime, and the Intel X520/I350 daughter card adds two 1 GbE and two 10 Gb SFP+ ports for flexible fabric connectivity. iDRAC8 Enterprise enables remote power control, console redirection and firmware updates over a dedicated management interface. Included ready rails and front bezel simplify rack installation in standard 2U spaces.

Other versions of this model
Each supply is rated at 750 W platinum efficiency; the pair provides full redundancy so the server stays online if one unit fails.
The shipment includes ready rails and a front bezel; network cables and a rack PDU are not supplied.
The H730 supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 across mixed SAS and SATA drives, so legacy SAS disks can join the new SSDs.
