2U rack server with dual 22-core Xeon processors at 2.2 GHz, 768 GB DDR4 ECC memory, eight 1.2 TB SAS drives on a PERC H730 controller, quad-port 1/10 GbE networking.
Installed Memory Size 768GB
HDD 8 x 1.2TB 10K SAS
The Dell PowerEdge R730 is a 2U rack server built for midsize and large enterprise workloads. Two Intel Xeon E5-2699 v4 processors deliver 44 total cores at 2.2 GHz with 3.6 GHz turbo. The system ships with 768 GB of DDR4 registered ECC memory across 24 slots and supports up to 1.5 TB capacity.
This server suits organisations running data warehouses, e-commerce platforms, virtual desktop infrastructure, databases or high-performance computing data nodes. The PERC H730 controller supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 plus pass-through. Buyers who need more than two processor sockets or more than 24 memory slots should consider a different platform.
Eight 1.2 TB 10K SAS drives connect through the 12 Gb/s PERC H730 controller with battery backup. The 2.5-inch bay count is fixed at eight and the controller handles SAS and SATA media. If your deployment requires a different drive count, interface or form factor, this chassis will not match.

Other versions of this model
The server occupies 2U of rack height and includes ready rails for mounting. It ships with two hot-swap 750 Watt platinum power supplies, so two PDU outlets are needed for full redundancy.
Yes. The H730 supports both 12 Gb/s SAS and SATA devices, so existing SATA drives can be mixed with the eight installed 1.2 TB 10K SAS drives in the same 2.5 inch bays.
Open the iDRAC 8 Enterprise interface or enter the system BIOS; both will show two 22-core processors at 2.2 GHz and 24 populated DIMM slots totalling 768 GB of registered ECC DDR4 memory.
