Two Intel Xeon E5-2699 v4 processors deliver 44 total cores at 2.2 GHz with 3.6 GHz turbo. Fifty-two gigabytes of DDR4 registered ECC memory are installed across 16 modules, leaving eight of the 24 slots open for expansion up to 1.5 TB. Redundant 750 W platinum power supplies and hot-swap drive bays support continuous operation.

PERC H730 controller with eight 300 GB SAS drives

The storage subsystem centres on a Dell PERC H730 1 GB mini controller that supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 plus pass-through mode. Eight enterprise 300 GB 10K SAS drives at 12 Gb/s populate the 2.5-inch hot-swap bays. Buyers who need more capacity or solid-state media must add drives separately because no SSDs are included and all eight bays are occupied.

Ready Rails and a front bezel ship with the unit, so installation in a compatible 2U rack space is straightforward.
