The Dell PowerEdge R730xd is a 2U rack server populated with two 16-core Intel Xeon E5-2683 v4 processors running at 2.1 GHz and 768 GB of DDR4 registered ECC memory. Twenty-four 400 GB SATA SSDs connect through a PERC H730 1 GB controller supporting RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60. Dual 750 W platinum power supplies and iDRAC 8 Enterprise management complete the package.

Suits virtualization and database nodes

This configuration targets midsize and large enterprises running data warehouses, e-commerce platforms, virtual desktop infrastructure or high-performance computing data nodes where dense flash storage and dual-socket compute are required together. 24-bay 2.5-inch front loading

The chassis provides 24 hot-swap 2.5-inch drive bays wired for SATA and SAS through the H730 controller, fixing the maximum internal drive count at 24 and limiting each installed SSD to 400 GB. Any deployment requiring larger per-drive capacities or a different bay count must use a different server model.
