2U rack server with dual 6-core Xeon processors at 2.4 GHz, 128 GB DDR4 ECC memory, twelve 8 TB SATA drives on a PERC H730 RAID controller, quad-port 1 GbE and 10 Gb SFP+ networking.
The Dell PowerEdge R730xd is a 2U rack server built for capacity-focused workloads. It ships with two Xeon E5-2620 v3 processors at 2.4 GHz, 128 GB of DDR4 ECC memory and twelve 3.5-inch 8 TB SATA drives. The PERC H730 controller supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60.
The chassis includes ready rails for tool-less rack mounting and a front bezel. All twelve drive bays are hot-swappable and the two 750 W platinum power supplies are hot-swap redundant. The iDRAC8 Enterprise module provides out-of-band remote management. Installation is straightforward if the rack depth and power distribution match the 2U form factor.
Confirm the rack can accommodate a 2U server with the required mounting depth and that PDU outlets suit dual 750 W supplies. The network daughter card provides two 1 GbE and two 10 Gb SFP+ ports; ensure compatible transceivers and cabling are available. Memory uses DDR4 RDIMMs across 24 slots with a 1.5 TB maximum.

During POST the system will list each CPU at 2.40 GHz with 6 cores and show the H730 with its 1 GB cache; iDRAC 8 Enterprise then reports both CPUs, 128 GB DDR4 across 24 slots and all 12 drive bays as healthy.
The box includes the 2U chassis, 2 x 750 W platinum PSUs, ready rails, front bezel, the X520/I350 quad-port daughter card and the 12 installed 8 TB 3.5" SATA drives; operating system licences and any extra memory modules are not included.
The system arrives with 8 x 16 GB DDR4 2133 MHz registered ECC DIMMs occupying 8 of 24 slots, leaving 16 free slots to reach the 1.5 TB maximum without removing existing modules.
