2U rack server with dual Xeon E5-2620 v3 2.4GHz 6-core CPUs, 256GB DDR4 ECC memory, 24-bay 2.5" storage filled with 800GB SATA SSDs on a PERC H730 RAID controller.
The Dell PowerEdge R730xd packs twenty-four 2.5-inch drive bays into a two-unit rack chassis. Dual Xeon E5-2620 v3 processors running at 2.4 GHz provide twelve total cores for multi-threaded applications. The system ships with 256 GB of DDR4 registered ECC memory across eight 32 GB modules. A PERC H730 controller with 1 GB cache manages the installed solid-state drives.
Twenty-four 800 GB SATA SSDs deliver consistent read and write bandwidth across long-running jobs such as database logging or virtual desktop hosting. The H730 controller supports RAID levels 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 so arrays can be tuned for capacity or redundancy without sacrificing steady-state performance. Quad-port networking with two 1 GbE and two 10 Gb SFP+ links keeps data moving to clients under continuous load.
Dual 750 W platinum-efficiency power supplies share the load and provide fail-over without interruption. iDRAC 8 Enterprise gives administrators out-of-band console access, power control and hardware monitoring over a dedicated network port. The included sliding rails and front bezel simplify rack installation and cable routing in standard cabinets.
