The Dell PowerEdge R730xd packs twenty-four 2.5-inch drive bays into a 2U rack chassis, driven by two Intel Xeon E5-2640 v3 processors at 2.6 GHz with eight cores each and 256 GB of DDR4 registered ECC memory. A PERC H730 controller manages the installed twenty-four 400 GB SATA SSDs, while a quad-port Intel X520/I350 card provides two 1 GbE and two 10 Gb SFP+ connections.
