DELL PowerEdge R730xd 2U rack server 2x Xeon E5-2699 v3 2.3GHz 18-core 256GB DDR4 2x 800GB SSD

Dense 2U compute node

The Dell PowerEdge R730xd packs two 18-core Xeon E5-2699 v3 processors running at 2.3 GHz with 3.6 GHz turbo into a 2U rack chassis. It targets midsize and large enterprises running data warehouses, e-commerce platforms, virtual desktop infrastructure or high-performance computing workloads that demand high core density and local storage capacity in a single rack unit.

Dual 750 W platinum supplies

Redundant hot-swap power supplies rated at 750 W each deliver platinum-efficiency conversion while sharing the load across both CPUs, 256 GB of DDR4-2133 registered ECC memory and twenty-four drive bays. The front bezel directs airflow across the 2.5-inch drive cage and the PERC H730 controller battery, keeping component temperatures stable without relying on external cooling assumptions.

H730 RAID plus quad-port networking

The included PERC H730 controller with 1 GB cache enables RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50, 60 and pass-through modes across the installed 800 GB SATA SSDs and any additional drives. An Intel X520/I350 daughter card adds two 1 GbE and two 10 Gb SFP+ ports, while iDRAC 8 Enterprise provides dedicated remote management without consuming a data-network interface. Ready rails and bezel complete the mechanical kit for immediate rack integration.
