2U Rack Server With Dual Silver 4210R

The Dell EMC PowerEdge R740 is a 2U rack server built for virtualisation and database workloads. It ships with two Intel Silver 4210R processors running at 2.4 GHz and 256 GB of DDR4 memory across 16 modules. The H730P RAID controller manages the included storage.

Suited For Consolidation Not Dense Compute

This configuration suits teams consolidating multiple workloads onto a single chassis with room for growth. The eight 2.5-inch drive bays leave six empty slots for additional SAS or SSD capacity. Buyers who need more than two processors or higher single-thread frequency should look at something else.

Storage Decided By Two 7.68 TB SAS SSDs

The server includes two 7.68 TB SAS SSDs installed behind the H730P controller. That capacity and interface set the baseline for boot, application or data volumes. If the workload demands a different drive count, interface or total capacity, this specific build will not match the requirement.
