Dell PowerEdge R740 2U server

The Dell PowerEdge R740 is a 2U rack server supplied with a rail kit. It contains dual Xeon Gold 6148 processors at 2.40 GHz and 512GB of DDR4 memory. 64TB of SAS storage is provided across eight 8TB drives. Hard drives and memory upgrades are included separately and require installation.

Who this suits and who it does not

This server suits organisations running virtualisation, private cloud or high-performance computing workloads that need dense storage and redundant power. Buyers who need installed components or a smaller form factor should look at other options.

Storage capacity decides fit

The 64TB Enterprise NL SAS array delivers 64TB of nearline storage at 7.2K RPM. If your workload requires more capacity or a different drive interface this unit will not match the requirement.
