Dual 18-Core Gold 6150 Server

The Dell PowerEdge R740 is a 2U rack server built around two Intel Gold 6150 processors, each with 18 cores. It ships with 32 GB of DDR4 memory and four 2 TB 7.2K SAS drives managed by an H740P controller. Remote administration is handled through iDRAC9 Enterprise. The chassis provides eight 2.5-inch drive bays.

Suited for dense virtualisation

This configuration suits environments that need high core counts and redundant power in a compact rack footprint. The dual Gold 6150 CPUs and hardware RAID controller support demanding multi-threaded applications. Buyers who need more than 32 GB of memory or additional drive bays beyond the eight 2.5-inch slots should consider a different chassis.

H740P RAID controller with eight 2.5-inch bays

The installed H740P storage controller manages the four 2 TB SAS drives and can address up to eight 2.5-inch bays in total. This single specification determines whether the server can accommodate the required drive count and RAID level for the target deployment.
