A 2U rack server with dual 20-core Xeon Gold 6230 processors, 16GB DDR4, and 26 hot-swap 4TB SATA drives for high-density storage
The Dell PowerEdge R740xd2 is a 2U rackmount server built for storage-heavy workloads. It ships with two Intel Xeon Gold 6230 processors, each running 20 cores at 2.1 GHz with a 3.9 GHz turbo frequency. Sixteen gigabytes of DDR4-2666 ECC registered memory are installed across two modules. A PERC H330 controller manages twenty-six 4 TB 7.2K SATA hard drives in 3.5-inch bays.
This configuration targets software-defined storage, backup repositories, big-data analytics and media archives where raw capacity and drive count matter most. The dual 10/25 GbE SFP28 OCP card and dual 1 GbE LOM provide flexible networking. Buyers who need more than 16 GB of installed memory, additional compute sockets beyond the two populated, or a different drive interface should evaluate alternative platforms.
The chassis holds twenty-six hot-swap 3.5-inch SATA drives, delivering over one hundred terabytes of raw capacity in a 2U form factor. Redundant 1100 W platinum power supplies and iDRAC 9 Enterprise remote management support continuous operation. Front bezel and ready rails are not included.

The server uses a Dell PERC H330 controller with 12 Gb/s SAS and SATA support, so the 26 installed 4 TB SATA drives can share the same cabling and enclosure infrastructure as your current SAS shelves.
Open the iDRAC 9 Enterprise web interface; the System Overview page shows both 20-core processors at 2.1 GHz, the 2×8 GB DDR4-2666 ECC DIMMs, and the H330 controller with all 26 drives online.
The supplier notes that front bezel and ready rails are not included; order Dell PowerEdge R740xd2 compatible sliding rails and the matching 2U front bezel to complete the rack installation.
