A 2U rack server with dual 16-core Xeon Silver 4314 CPUs, 128GB DDR4, twelve 8TB SATA drives on an HBA355i controller, dual 10GbE SFP+ networking, iDRAC9 Enterprise, and redundant 1400W power supplies
The Dell PowerEdge R750 is a 2U rack server populated with two Intel Xeon Silver 4314 processors running at 2.4 GHz with 16 cores each. It ships with 128 GB of DDR4 2666 MHz registered ECC memory and twelve 8 TB 7.2K SATA hard drives. A PERC HBA355i controller provides SAS 12 Gb/s pass-through connectivity. Dual 1400 W platinum power supplies and iDRAC9 Enterprise remote management are included.
Confirm that your rack can accommodate a 2U chassis and that the facility can supply sufficient power for two 1400 W units. The server uses LGA 4189 sockets and DDR4 memory slots, so any future CPU or memory upgrades must match those specifications. Network connectivity requires SFP+ transceivers or direct-attach cables for the dual-port 10 GbE OCP 3.0 adapter. Storage expansion relies on available 3.5-inch drive bays and the HBA355i pass-through controller.
This configuration replaces single-socket tower servers or 1U rack units that lack the drive count, memory capacity or redundant power needed for virtualisation and database workloads. The jump is worthwhile when workloads demand twelve 3.5-inch drives, dual-processor compute and out-of-band management in a single 2U footprint. It is not suited for environments that require NVMe-only storage, GPU acceleration or higher core counts per socket.

The server ships with 12x 8 TB 7.2 K SATA drives already installed in the 3.5" bays so no additional drives are required.
This unit comes with two Silver 4314 CPUs each offering 16 cores at 2.4 GHz with 3.4 GHz turbo, giving 32 cores total for dense VM workloads.
The PERC HBA355i is a pass-through HBA only; it presents drives to the OS without hardware RAID so you must use software RAID or add a PERC RAID card.
