2U rack server with dual 12-core Xeon Gold 5317 processors, 512 GB DDR4 ECC memory, H755 RAID controller and 24× 960 GB SATA SSDs
The Dell PowerEdge R750 is a 2U rack server built for enterprise workloads. It ships with two Intel Xeon Gold 5317 processors, each running at 3.0 GHz with 12 cores. The system includes 512 GB of DDR4 registered ECC memory across 16 modules. Twenty-four 960 GB SATA SSDs provide high-capacity flash storage. Dual 1400 W platinum power supplies and iDRAC9 Enterprise management complete the package.
This configuration replaces single-socket servers or systems limited to 16 DIMM slots and fewer drive bays. The jump is worthwhile when workloads demand two 12-core CPUs, 32 memory slots and 24 front-accessible 2.5-inch bays simultaneously. The PERC H755 controller with 8 GB NV cache supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 for flexible data protection. Buyers who need only a single processor or fewer than 24 drives will find the extra capacity unused.
The chassis occupies 2U of rack space and includes ready rails and a front bezel for standard cabinet mounting. The Broadcom 5720 quad-port 1 GbE OCP 3.0 card handles network connectivity. PCIe Gen4 slots remain available for additional accelerators, storage controllers or networking cards. The 32 DDR4 slots allow future memory growth up to the platform maximum. Hot-swap power supplies and drive bays enable maintenance without downtime.

Ready Rails are included with the server, allowing tool-less installation in standard four-post racks with square or round mounting holes.
Each processor seats in an LGA 4189 socket; the triangle marker on the CPU must match the socket corner, otherwise pins can bend during the lever lock.
The 8 GB NV cache battery is a hot-swap module behind the front bezel; plan replacement around the three-to-five-year mark when the iDRAC 9 Enterprise health log reports degraded capacity.
