A 2U rack server with dual 12-core Xeon Silver 4310 processors, 256GB DDR4, a PERC H755 RAID controller and 24 enterprise 1.92TB SATA SSDs
The Dell PowerEdge R750 is a 2U rack server built for enterprise workloads. It ships with two Intel Xeon Silver 4310 processors, each running at 2.1 GHz with 12 cores and a 3.3 GHz turbo frequency. The system includes 256 GB of DDR4 2666 MHz registered ECC memory across eight 32 GB modules. A Dell PERC H755 RAID controller with 8 GB NV cache and battery manages the 24 installed 1.92 TB SATA SSDs.
This configuration suits virtualisation clusters, database nodes and analytics platforms that benefit from 24 drive bays and dual-processor throughput. The 256 GB memory ceiling and two-socket limit mean it will not fit workloads that require more than two CPUs or memory beyond the installed 256 GB. Buyers who need 3.5-inch drive support or NVMe-only arrays should look at a different chassis.
The PERC H755 controller adds RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 with 8 GB non-volatile cache and battery backup, protecting write performance during power loss. The Broadcom 5720 quad-port 1 GbE OCP 3.0 card provides four network links in a single slot. iDRAC9 Enterprise enables full remote management including virtual console, power control and firmware updates. Two 1400 W platinum power supplies, ready rails and a front bezel complete the package.
