Two-socket 2U rack server with 32 Xeon cores, 64 GB DDR5, four 960 GB SATA SSDs on an H965i RAID controller, quad-port 1 GbE networking, iDRAC9 Datacenter and dual 1400 W power supplies
The Dell PowerEdge R760 is a 2U rack server equipped with two Intel Xeon Gold 6426Y processors. Each CPU delivers 16 cores running at 2.5 GHz with a 4.1 GHz turbo frequency. The system ships with 64 GB of DDR5-4800 ECC registered memory across 32 available slots. It targets organisations running virtualisation, databases, AI workloads and software-defined storage.
Two hot-swap 1400 W platinum-efficiency power supplies provide full redundancy for continuous operation. The 2U chassis uses forced-air cooling designed for the installed processor and memory configuration. Acoustic output and thermal behaviour follow Dell enterprise rack standards for the given component set.
The bundled Dell PERC H965i front RAID controller includes 8 GB of non-volatile cache and supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 for both SATA and NVMe drives. Four 960 GB SATA SSDs are pre-installed in the 16-bay chassis. iDRAC9 Datacenter enables full remote management and lifecycle automation. The Broadcom 5720 quad-port 1 GbE OCP 3.0 adapter provides network connectivity. Ready Rails and a front bezel are included for rack mounting.

Slide each drive into a front hot-swap bay until the latch clicks; the common mistake is not seating the carrier fully so the backplane connector does not engage.
The cache module uses a super-capacitor backup; after several years the capacitor degrades and the module should be replaced to preserve write-caching during power loss.
The 1400W platinum power supplies hit their combined output ceiling before the CPU thermal throttling activates.
