Dual 32-core Xeon Gold 6430 server

The PowerEdge R760 is a 2U rack server equipped with two Intel Xeon Gold 6430 processors running at 2.1GHz with a 3.4GHz turbo frequency. Each CPU provides 32 cores for a total of 64 cores across the system. It ships with 256GB of DDR5-4800 ECC registered memory installed across eight modules. The platform supports up to 8TB of memory across 32 DIMM slots for future expansion.

Sustained multi-threaded throughput

The dual-socket design delivers consistent performance for virtualization, databases, and high-performance computing under continuous load. Sixteen 2.5-inch hot-swap drive bays accept SAS, SATA, and NVMe storage, while the PERC H965i controller with 8GB NV cache supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50, and 60. PCI Express Gen5 slots provide bandwidth for modern accelerators and network adapters during prolonged workloads.

Redundant platinum power and remote management

Two 1400W platinum-efficiency hot-swap power supplies deliver redundant power with high conversion efficiency. The iDRAC9 Datacenter controller provides comprehensive out-of-band management, monitoring, and lifecycle automation. A Broadcom 5720 quad-port 1GbE OCP 3.0 network adapter handles baseline connectivity. The 2U chassis includes ready rails and a front bezel for standard rack integration.

Questions about this item

How much heat and power do the 2x 1400W supplies draw when the dual Xeon Gold 6430 CPUs run at 3.4GHz Turbo all day?

Each supply is rated at 1400 watts platinum efficiency. The dual Xeon Gold 6430 processors have a base speed of 2.1GHz and can boost to 3.4GHz. Actual heat output and power draw depend on workload and ambient temperature.

Which drive trays and storage controller are already included so I know what drives to buy?

The server includes four 2.5-inch hot-swap drive trays and a Dell PERC H965i RAID controller with 8GB NV cache. The controller supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 for SAS, SATA and NVMe drives.

Will the OCP 3.0 quad-port 1GbE card and PCIe Gen5 slots work with my existing PCIe 4.0 add-in cards?

The Broadcom 5720 OCP 3.0 card provides four 1GbE ports. The PCIe Gen5 expansion slots are backward compatible with PCIe 4.0 and earlier cards, so existing add-in cards will function at their rated speed.
