A barebone 2U rack server with twelve 3.5-inch drive bays and an LGA 3647 socket, delivered without CPU, memory, storage, expansion cards or power supplies for full customisation
This Dell PowerEdge R7625 barebone chassis provides twelve 3.5-inch drive bays for high-density storage deployments. It arrives without CPU, memory, drives, expansion cards or power supplies so system integrators can specify every component. The LGA 3647 socket supports a range of compatible processors for tailored performance. It suits organisations building custom storage or compute nodes from the ground up.
The 2U rack form factor accommodates redundant cooling solutions that maintain stable temperatures during continuous workloads. With no factory-installed components restricting airflow, integrators can select heatsinks and fan configurations matched to their chosen CPU thermal design power. This flexibility helps prevent throttling during extended database, virtualisation or backup operations. Proper thermal planning remains the builder's responsibility.
Tool-less drive carriers allow quick insertion and removal of 3.5-inch drives without disassembling the chassis. The empty PCIe slots and modular power-supply bays let installers add only the controllers, network adapters and PSUs the workload requires. Cable-routing channels keep internal wiring organised for easier maintenance. The bare-metal approach reduces e-waste by avoiding unused factory parts.

The barebone chassis is designed for 12 x 3.5-inch drives; actual heat and noise depend on the CPUs, power supplies and fans you install.
You must add CPUs for the LGA 3647 sockets, memory modules, storage drives, expansion cards and power supplies.
Yes, the server uses LGA 3647 sockets, so compatible processors you already own can be installed.
