A 4U rack server with four 10-core Xeon E7-8891 v4 processors, 3TB DDR4 ECC memory, H330 storage controller, four 1.8TB 10K SAS drives, dual 10GbE and dual 1GbE networking, iDRAC8 Enterprise.
The Dell PowerEdge R930 is a 4U rack server fitted with four Intel Xeon E7-8891 v4 processors, each running at 2.8 GHz with ten cores. It ships with 3 TB of DDR4 registered ECC memory installed across 96 slots. A PERC H330 controller manages four 1.8 TB 10K SAS drives in the front bays. Dual 10 Gb SFP+ and dual 1 GbE ports are provided by an Intel X520/I350 daughter card.
This configuration targets databases, virtualization and analytics that benefit from large memory capacity and four-socket scaling. Buyers who need GPU acceleration, front-accessible NVMe drives or more than four 2.5-inch drive bays should look at a different platform. The Matrox G200 graphics controller only supports basic console output.
The system arrives with 96 × 32 GB modules populating every slot, delivering 3 TB at 2400 MHz. Maximum supported capacity is 12 TB, so any further expansion requires replacing existing DIMMs. This density makes the server a candidate for in-memory databases and heavy virtualization consolidation.

Other versions of this model
The server ships with four 1.8 TB 10K SAS drives; the chassis supports up to 24 hot-plug 2.5 inch SAS or SATA drives plus eight front NVMe PCIe SSDs for higher capacity or speed.
Each of the four 10-core Xeon E7-8891 v4 CPUs runs at 2.8 GHz base and can boost to 3.5 GHz, giving 40 cores total for high single-thread and multi-thread performance.
The H330 supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 10 and 50 at 12 Gb/s SAS, so the four 1.8 TB 10K drives are capped by the controller's 12 Gb/s link and RAID overhead.
