A 4U rack server with four 10-core Xeon processors at 2.8 GHz, 768 GB DDR4 memory, PERC H730P RAID controller, quad-port 1/10 GbE networking and four 1100 W power supplies
The Dell PowerEdge R930 is a 4U rack server equipped with four Intel Xeon E7-8891 v4 processors, each running at 2.8 GHz with ten cores. It ships with 768 GB of DDR4 registered ECC memory across 48 DIMM slots. The platform targets enterprise databases, virtualisation clusters and analytics workloads that demand high core counts and large memory capacity in a single chassis.
Confirm the data centre can accommodate a 4U form factor and supply sufficient cooling for four 1100 W platinum power supplies. The system uses LGA 2011 sockets and the Intel C602J chipset, so any processor upgrades must remain within the supported Xeon E7 v4 family. Network connectivity relies on an Intel X520/I350 daughter card providing two 1 GbE and two 10 Gb SFP+ ports; ensure compatible switching and cabling are available.
Four 2.5-inch drive trays with screws are included for SAS or SATA drives behind the PERC H730P 2 GB controller, which supports RAID levels 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60. The chassis accepts up to 24 hot-plug drives and additional front-accessible NVMe PCIe SSDs for high-throughput tiers. iDRAC 8 Enterprise enables agent-free remote provisioning, monitoring and firmware updates, while ready rails and a front bezel simplify rack installation and physical security.
