Tower server with Xeon E-2124 quad-core CPU, 64GB DDR4, 16TB across four SATA drives and PERC S140 RAID
The Dell PowerEdge T340 tower server ships new with an Intel Xeon E-2124 quad-core processor running at 3.3GHz with a 4.3GHz turbo frequency. Sixty-four gigabytes of DDR4 memory in a two-by-thirty-two-gigabyte configuration support multi-tasking workloads in small offices or home offices. Four hot-plug 3.5-inch SATA hard drives provide sixteen terabytes of storage capacity. An integrated PERC S140 RAID controller manages the array.
A sixteen-gigabyte USB flash drive is bundled for quick boot media or firmware updates. The iDRAC9 Express remote access card enables out-of-band monitoring and control over the network. On-board Broadcom 5720 dual-port one-gigabit LAN adapters handle wired connectivity without extra cards. A DVD-ROM drive remains available for legacy media installation.
The four-bay chassis accepts 3.5-inch hot-plug drives so storage can be swapped without powering down. A single cabled power supply unit delivers power to all components within the tower form factor. Unbuffered DDR4 modules at 2666MHz populate two slots leaving room for future expansion. Integrated SATA RAID and dual gigabit ports simplify first-time deployment.

The four 4TB 7.2K SATA drives are hot-plug 3.5" units managed by the PERC S140 controller; replace any drive that SMART flags or that the array marks degraded, which typically occurs after several years of continuous operation.
The single cabled power supply and the tower's airflow set the practical ceiling; the CPU will throttle before the 64GB DDR4 2666MHz memory or the dual 1Gb NICs saturate.
The single cabled PSU and four spinning 3.5" drives generate steady airflow noise and warm exhaust; iDRAC9 Express lets you monitor inlet temperature and fan speed remotely.
