Tower server with Xeon E-2124 quad-core CPU, 32GB DDR4 memory and 2TB SATA SSD in a 4-bay hot-plug chassis
The Dell PowerEdge T340 is a 4-bay 3.5-inch hot-plug tower server built around an Intel Xeon E-2124 quad-core processor running at 3.3 GHz. It ships with 32 GB of DDR4 PC4-21300 2666 MHz unbuffered memory in a two-module configuration. A 16 GB USB flash drive is included for data transfer tasks.
A single cabled power supply delivers power to the system, with the Xeon E-2124 rated at a base frequency of 3.3 GHz and 8 MB cache. The tower chassis uses 3.5-inch drive bays that allow hot-plug operation for storage maintenance. Integrated Broadcom 5720 dual-port 1 Gb LOM handles network traffic without a discrete NIC.
The integrated Dell PERC S140 SATA RAID controller manages the two 1 TB SATA III 6 Gb/s SSDs configured for 2 TB total capacity. iDRAC9 Express provides remote management access over the network. A DVD-ROM drive is fitted as standard, and the tower form factor sits on a desk or shelf without rack rails.

New to this? Buying server hardware with crypto — what to check, what it costs to pay, and what is never asked for.
No published specifications for this item yet.
Slide each 1TB SATA SSD into an empty 3.5" hot-plug bay until the lever clicks; the PERC S140 RAID controller will detect the drives automatically.
The single cabled power supply has no hot-swap redundancy, so plan for a full unit replacement if it fails; the unbuffered DDR4 DIMMs require no scheduled servicing.
The SATA III 6Gb/s interface and PERC S140 controller cap sustained write throughput, so the array will saturate before the Xeon E-2124 CPU becomes the bottleneck.
