Rack server with 16 drive bays, a 10-core Xeon at 2.3 GHz, 192 GB DDR4, and PERC H730 controller
The Dell PowerEdge T430 is a 16-bay 2.5-inch rack-mount server built around a single Xeon E5-2650 v3 processor running at 2.3 GHz with 10 cores and 25 MB cache. It ships with 192 GB of DDR4 ECC registered memory and supports a second CPU for expanded compute capacity. The platform targets workloads that demand dense local storage and remote manageability via iDRAC8 Express.
Two 1100 W power supplies feed the chassis while the PERC H730 SAS RAID controller manages up to 16 drives. Integrated graphics and a dual-port 1 Gb 332T Ethernet adapter keep auxiliary heat low. Firmware is updated to the latest stable release and each unit undergoes full burn-in testing before dispatch.
The 16 SFF bays accept SAS drives and connect directly to the H730 controller, leaving no drive installed so you choose capacity and RAID level. A second processor socket is open, and maximum memory reaches 384 GB across the available DIMM slots. Rails are available on request for standard rack mounting.

Seat the PERC H730 in the dedicated internal RAID slot, connect the SAS cables to the 16-drive backplane, then enable the controller in the BIOS before creating any virtual disks — skipping the BIOS enable step leaves the drives invisible to the OS.
The two 1100 W units are hot-swappable; plan to clean their intake fans during scheduled downtime and replace a unit only if the iDRAC8 alert log reports a fault or efficiency drop.
With 10 cores at 2.3 GHz and 192 GB DDR4 installed, CPU saturation appears first — memory headroom remains to 384 GB and the 16-bay SAS backplane can deliver more I/O than the processor can schedule.
