5U tower server with dual 18-core Xeon processors, 256 GB DDR4 memory, H330 storage controller, sixteen 2.5-inch drive bays and redundant 750 W power supplies
The Dell PowerEdge T430 is a 5U tower server designed for enterprise workloads such as virtualization, database hosting and file storage. It ships with two Intel Xeon E5-2695 v4 processors running at 2.1 GHz with a 3.3 GHz turbo frequency and eighteen cores each. The system includes 256 GB of DDR4 ECC registered memory across eight 32 GB modules and a PERC H330 storage controller with four 2.5-inch drive trays installed. Dual 750 W platinum power supplies provide redundant hot-swap power.
This server suits organisations that need room for up to sixteen 2.5-inch hot-swap drives and the ability to expand memory to 384 GB across twelve slots. It is not for buyers who require a compact rackmount form factor without a conversion kit, or for deployments that need more than two processor sockets. The tower chassis also limits use in space-constrained racks unless the optional rack kit is sourced separately.
The installed dual Xeon E5-2695 v4 processors set the performance ceiling and determine the maximum memory capacity of 384 GB. With both sockets populated, no further CPU upgrades are possible. The PERC H330 controller supports SAS and SATA drives across the sixteen drive bays, so storage expansion depends on drive selection rather than controller limits. Memory must be DDR4 ECC registered to match the twelve available slots.

The Dell PERC H330 12Gb/s SAS/SATA controller links each drive at up to 12Gb/s, but sustained throughput is limited by the installed 2.5" SAS or SATA drives and the PCIe 3.0 x8 host slot.
The chassis is a 5U tower; rack mounting requires the optional Dell rack conversion kit and ready rails, which are not included with this unit.
Two Xeon E5-2695 v4 processors occupy both LGA 2011 sockets; 256GB DDR4-2400 ECC RDIMMs fill 8 of 12 slots in a balanced configuration across both CPUs — the common error is populating slots unevenly, which halves memory bandwidth.
