A 5U rack server with dual 18-core Xeon processors at 2.1 GHz, 64 GB DDR4 memory, H730P RAID controller and 16 hot-swap 2.5-inch drive bays
This Dell PowerEdge T430 arrives as a new 5U rack server populated with two Intel Xeon E5-2695 v4 processors running at 2.1 GHz with 3.3 GHz turbo. Eighteen cores per socket deliver thirty-six threads for multi-threaded workloads such as virtualization, database hosting and business applications. The system targets IT teams that need dense compute in a tower-to-rack convertible chassis.
Sixty-four gigabytes of DDR4-2400 ECC registered memory ship in four 16 GB modules across twelve DIMM slots, leaving eight slots open for expansion up to the 384 GB maximum. The PERC H730P controller with 2 GB cache manages sixteen 2.5-inch hot-swap bays, though only four drive trays are included. Storage capacity scales with added SAS or SATA drives, while memory headroom supports larger virtual machine densities.
Dual 750-watt platinum power supplies provide hot-swap redundancy for continuous operation. Integrated dual-port gigabit Ethernet handles baseline connectivity, and iDRAC 8 Express enables remote firmware updates, power cycling and console access without a local KVM. The front bezel and ready rails are not included, so rack mounting hardware must be sourced separately. PCIe slots remain available for additional RAID, networking or accelerator cards.

The server uses two LGA 2011 sockets, so the installed E5-2695 v4 CPUs are compatible with any board that accepts that socket and the v4 stepping.
During POST the H730P BIOS reports its firmware version, battery status and any configured virtual disks; iDRAC 8 Express also shows controller health and drive state remotely.
Included: dual 18-core Xeons, 64 GB DDR4-2400 ECC RDIMMs, H730P 2 GB RAID card, four 2.5" drive trays, dual 1 GbE ports, iDRAC 8 Express, two 750 W PSUs. Drives, front bezel and ready rails are not included.
