A 5U rack server with dual 12-core Xeon processors, 256 GB DDR4, PERC H730P RAID and four 1.92 TB SATA SSDs
The Dell PowerEdge T430 is a 5U tower server configured with two Intel Xeon E5-2650 v4 processors running at 2.2 GHz with a 2.9 GHz turbo frequency. Each CPU provides 12 cores for a total of 24 processing threads. The system includes 256 GB of DDR4-2400 ECC registered memory across eight 32 GB modules. It is built for virtualization, database hosting, and business-critical applications that demand multi-threaded throughput and memory capacity.
The installed Dell PERC H730P controller with 2 GB cache supports RAID levels 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50, and 60 plus pass-through mode. Four Dell Enterprise 1.92 TB SATA 6 Gb/s 2.5-inch solid-state drives are populated in the 16-bay hot-swap chassis. This storage upgrade replaces mechanical arrays with low-latency flash, cutting boot times and accelerating random I/O for virtual machines and databases. The jump is worth it when workloads are bottlenecked by spindle latency or when a single chassis must consolidate many VMs.
The server ships with two 750 W platinum hot-swap power supplies and requires compatible PDU connectors. Front bezel and ready rails are not included, so verify rack mounting hardware before deployment. Twelve DIMM slots are present with eight occupied, leaving four slots open to reach the 384 GB maximum. Confirm that your operating system and hypervisor support the Xeon E5-2600 v4 platform and that network infrastructure matches the dual integrated 1 GbE ports.

The server occupies 5U of rack space and provides 16 hot-swap 2.5-inch drive bays for SAS or SATA drives.
Both CPUs are pre-installed in the two LGA 2011 sockets; the H730P RAID controller is factory-fitted in a PCIe slot. The step often missed is connecting the controller's battery backup cable to the motherboard header.
The two 750 W hot-swap power supplies and the H730P's 2 GB cache battery are the first parts that typically require replacement; the 256 GB DDR4-2400 ECC RDIMMs are rated for the server's full service life.
