Dual 14-core Xeon 2.6 GHz server with 16 GB DDR4, H730P RAID controller, four 960 GB SSDs and redundant 750 W power supplies
This Dell PowerEdge T430 is a 5U rack server equipped with two Intel Xeon E5-2690 v4 processors. Each CPU delivers 14 cores at a 2.6 GHz base frequency and can reach 3.5 GHz turbo. The system includes 16 GB of DDR4-2400 ECC registered memory across two modules and a PERC H730P controller with 2 GB cache. Four 960 GB SATA SSDs are installed in the 2.5-inch drive bays, and dual 750 W platinum power supplies provide redundancy.
The dual 14-core configuration suits virtualisation hosts running VMware ESXi, Hyper-V or Proxmox, as well as database engines such as Microsoft SQL Server. The H730P controller supports RAID levels 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 for local storage resilience. Organisations that need higher core counts per socket, larger memory capacity than the 384 GB maximum, or a smaller chassis should evaluate other platforms.
The platform caps at 384 GB of DDR4 ECC registered memory across twelve DIMM slots, so the installed 16 GB can be expanded significantly. This limit determines whether the server can hold your working set or if a system with a higher maximum capacity is required.

Each processor runs at a 2.6 GHz base frequency and can reach 3.5 GHz turbo; sustained loads will push both 14-core CPUs toward their maximum thermal design envelope, so adequate airflow through the 5U chassis is essential.
Redundant 750 W platinum power supplies and the PERC H730P controller generate significant heat; the 5U tower relies on multiple high-speed fans that become noticeably loud under full load, so plan for a cooled rack or isolated room.
The board has 12 DDR4 slots and ships with 2 x 8 GB ECC RDIMMs at 2400 MT/s; to expand, you need additional DDR4 ECC registered DIMMs compatible with the Xeon E5-2600 v4 memory controller.
