Tower server with dual 18-core Xeon CPUs, 16 GB DDR4, eight 4 TB SATA drives and a PERC H730 RAID controller
The Dell PowerEdge T430 is a tower-format server system built around two Intel Xeon E5-2695 v4 processors, each running at 2.1 GHz with 18 cores. It ships with 16 GB of DDR4 registered ECC memory across two modules and includes a Dell PERC H730 storage controller with 1 GB cache. Eight 3.5-inch 4 TB SATA hard drives are installed in the eight-bay chassis, and dual 750 W platinum power supplies provide redundancy.
This configuration fits small offices or remote sites that need a single server for collaboration, productivity, mail, file, print, or web serving with ample local storage. Organisations requiring more than 16 GB of memory for virtualisation or large databases should plan additional DDR4 modules, as only two of twelve slots are populated. Buyers needing solid-state storage or 2.5-inch drive bays will not find them in this unit.
The system supports up to 384 GB of DDR4 registered ECC memory across twelve slots, so the installed 16 GB leaves extensive headroom for memory-intensive applications. The PERC H730 controller manages the eight 7.2K SATA drives in RAID levels 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50, or 60, and the dual 1 GbE ports handle network connectivity. iDRAC 8 Express enables remote management without an operating system.

The PERC H730 controller runs at 12Gb/s SAS/SATA, but the installed 7.2K drives operate at 6Gb/s SATA, so the array is capped at 6Gb/s per drive.
The T430 is a tower chassis that uses Ready Rails for rack mounting; the rails and front bezel are not included with this unit.
Both CPUs go into the LGA 2011-3 sockets with the supplied heatsinks; the step often missed is applying thermal paste evenly before locking the retention lever.
