A 5U rack server with dual 14-core Xeon Gold 5120 processors at 2.2GHz, 128GB DDR4 memory, H730P RAID controller, and four 960GB SATA SSDs
The Dell PowerEdge T440 is a 5U rack server equipped with two Intel Xeon Gold 5120 processors, each running at 2.2GHz with 14 cores and a 3.2GHz turbo frequency. It includes 128GB of DDR4-2400 ECC registered memory across four 32GB modules and a PERC H730P controller with 2GB cache. Four 960GB SATA SSDs are installed in the 16-bay 2.5-inch chassis.
This configuration suits organisations deploying VMware ESXi, Hyper-V or Proxmox clusters, as well as SQL Server, file storage, backup targets or software-defined storage workloads. Dual redundant 750W platinum power supplies and iDRAC 9 Express remote management support continuous operation. Buyers who need more than 1TB of total memory capacity or who require storage interfaces beyond SATA and SAS should look at other platforms.
The server provides sixteen hot-swap 2.5-inch drive bays but only four 960GB SATA SSDs are populated, leaving twelve bays free for additional SAS or SATA drives. The H730P controller supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 plus pass-through mode. An optional rack conversion kit allows the 5U tower to be mounted in a standard rack cabinet.

Enter the BIOS or iDRAC 9 Express interface; both CPUs should show 14 cores each at 2.2GHz with 3.2GHz turbo, and the memory summary should list 128GB across four 32GB DDR4-2400 modules.
The unit ships with four 960GB SATA SSDs installed in the 16-bay 2.5" chassis, the PERC H730P controller with battery, dual 750W PSUs and dual 1GbE ports; front bezel and ready rails are not included.
This build provides 128GB via four 32GB DDR4 modules leaving twelve slots free; expand later with matching DDR4-2400 ECC registered DIMMs if workloads demand more than the installed capacity.
