A 5U rack server with dual 16-core Xeon Gold 5218 processors at 2.3 GHz, 256 GB DDR4 ECC memory, H730P RAID controller, four 960 GB SATA SSDs, dual 1 GbE ports.
This Dell PowerEdge T440 is a 5U rack server with sixteen 2.5-inch drive bays. Two Intel Xeon Gold 5218 processors deliver thirty-two cores at 2.3 GHz with a 3.9 GHz turbo frequency. The system includes 256 GB of DDR4‑2400 ECC registered memory across eight 32 GB modules and a PERC H730P controller with 2 GB cache supporting RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60.
The server fits virtualisation hosts, database workloads, file storage and backup targets that need high core counts and redundant 750 W platinum power supplies. iDRAC 9 Express provides remote management for lights-out operations. Buyers who need more than sixteen drive bays, higher memory capacity than 1 TB, or additional processor sockets beyond the two installed should evaluate larger platforms.
The installed storage consists of four 960 GB SATA SSDs behind the H730P controller. If your deployment requires a different drive count, interface or capacity, the eighteen remaining bays and the controller’s SAS/SATA support determine whether this chassis can meet the requirement.

Open the H730P BIOS utility at boot and verify that each 960 GB SATA SSD appears as a physical disk; the controller supports RAID 0/1/5/6/10/50/60 and pass-through modes.
The server ships with two Xeon Gold 5218 processors, 256 GB DDR4-2400 ECC RDIMM in eight 32 GB modules, H730P 2 GB controller, four 960 GB SATA SSDs, dual-port 1 GbE NIC, iDRAC 9 Express, and two 750 W platinum PSUs; front bezel and ready rails are not included.
The system has sixteen DDR4 slots and supports up to 1 TB; populate remaining slots with DDR4-2400 ECC registered DIMMs in matched pairs to maintain performance and reach the maximum capacity.
