The Dell PowerEdge T440 is a 5U rack server equipped with two Intel Xeon Silver 4110 processors running at 2.1GHz with 3.0GHz Turbo. Eight cores per processor and 256GB of DDR4-2400 ECC registered memory across eight 32GB modules provide the compute density for VMware ESXi, Hyper-V, Proxmox VE, SQL Server and software-defined storage deployments.

Verify rack space and drive-count needs

The chassis occupies 5U and offers sixteen 2.5-inch hot-swap bays, yet only four drive trays are included with this unit. Confirm that your rack can accommodate the height and that you have additional trays or caddies for any drives beyond the first four. The PERC H330 controller manages SAS and SATA devices; ensure your storage media match those interfaces.

Included components and management access

Two 750W platinum hot-swap power supplies deliver redundant power out of the box. The iDRAC 9 Express module provides remote hardware monitoring and lifecycle management without a separate licence. An integrated dual-port Gigabit Ethernet adapter handles baseline connectivity, while the front bezel and ready rails are not supplied and must be sourced separately if required.
