A 5U rack server with dual 2.1GHz Xeon Silver 4110 processors, 64GB DDR4, H730P controller and four 1.92TB SATA SSDs
The DELL PowerEdge T440 is a 5U tower server built on two Intel Xeon Silver 4110 processors running at 2.1 GHz with a 3.0 GHz turbo frequency. It ships with 64 GB of DDR4-2400 ECC registered memory across four modules and includes a PERC H730P 2 GB storage controller supporting RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60. Four 1.92 TB SATA solid-state drives are installed in the 16-bay 2.5-inch hot-swap chassis.
Redundant hot-swap 750 W platinum-efficiency power supplies deliver failover protection for continuous operation. The 5U form factor provides internal airflow paths for the dual-socket LGA 3647 platform and the sixteen drive bays. Integrated dual-port gigabit Ethernet and iDRAC 9 Express remote management operate independently of the host operating system for out-of-band monitoring.
The H730P 12 Gb/s SAS/SATA controller includes a 2 GB cache with battery backup to preserve write data during unexpected power loss. It manages the four installed 1.92 TB SATA SSDs and supports up to sixteen drives in the hot-swap backplane. iDRAC 9 Express enables remote firmware updates, hardware inventory and virtual console access without requiring an enterprise licence. Front bezel and ready rails are not included.

Slide each drive into a bay until the lever clicks; the step often missed is confirming the PERC H730P controller detects every drive in the BIOS before creating a RAID volume.
The 750 W Platinum power supplies and the PERC H730P battery-backed cache module are the first field-replaceable units; both are hot-swap and use Dell part numbers.
The 5U chassis airflow hits its cooling ceiling before the CPU TDP limit, so sustained 3.0 GHz operation will throttle unless inlet temperature stays low.
