5U rack server with dual 10-core Xeon Silver 4210 CPUs at 2.2GHz, 16GB DDR4, HBA330 controller, sixteen 2.5-inch drive bays and redundant 750W power supplies
The Dell PowerEdge T440 is a 5U rack server equipped with two Intel Xeon Silver 4210 processors, each delivering 10 cores at 2.2 GHz with a 3.2 GHz turbo frequency. Sixteen gigabytes of DDR4-2400 ECC registered memory and a PERC HBA330 12 Gb/s SAS/SATA controller provide a foundation for virtualisation, database hosting, file storage and software-defined storage workloads. Dual 750 W platinum hot-swap power supplies and iDRAC 9 Express remote management support continuous operation.
Moving from a single-processor server or a system with fewer than 10 cores per CPU adds the parallel throughput needed for heavier VM densities and multi-threaded database queries. The jump is worth it when your current host saturates CPU resources or when you need the 16 DIMM slots to scale memory toward the 1 TB maximum. Four included 2.5-inch drive trays and sixteen hot-swap bays also replace smaller direct-attached storage arrays.
Confirm that your rack can accommodate a 5U chassis and that the facility provides the appropriate power connections for dual 750 W supplies. The server ships without a front bezel or ready rails, so plan for mounting hardware. Memory upgrades must use DDR4-2400 ECC registered modules to match the installed 16 GB configuration and the 16 available slots.

The server occupies 5U of rack space when mounted with the optional rack conversion kit.
Insert each of the four supplied trays into the front hot-swap bays until the latch clicks; the missing step is failing to lock the latch, which leaves the drive unseated.
Replacement modules must be DDR4-2400 ECC registered DIMMs to maintain compatibility with the 16 memory slots.
